And for those who prefer to steer clear of caffeine, the Decaf option ensures no one misses out on the rich coffee experience.

The espresso menu is where Ghostlight truly shines, offering beloved classics like the Latte, Cappuccino, and Mocha, each crafted with precision and care. Customers rave about the quality and consistency: "Their coffee is awesome! Never had an issue with consistency or anything like that," shares loyal patron Riley McPherson. If you’re looking for something to warm you up during a chillier Edmonton day, consider indulging in a sweet and fragrant London Fog or a comforting Hot Chocolate.

The café's strategic location makes it a perfect stop before or after performances at the Citadel. Visitors have noted that the coffeehouse can get busy, especially on show nights, with some fine-tuning required to hit that sweet spot before the queue builds up. Paul Hill mentions, "There’s certainly a trick to arriving just at the right time before the queue gets a bit too big." This energetic buzz enhances the café’s atmosphere, making each visit feel like part of a larger experience. Although patrons have mentioned hoping for more food options, the current beverage selection is commendable, and the ambience is one that’s hard to beat.

But what truly sets Ghostlight apart is its commitment to customer service. Many reviews highlight the friendly efficiency of the staff, who work diligently to ensure every order is executed with care, even amidst the hustle and bustle. Wes Inaba reflects this sentiment by stating, "The servers are helpful and kind...not overly friendly." It's this balance of professionalism that makes each visit enjoyable, whether you’re grabbing a quick cup or savoring your drink while soaking in the café's atmosphere.

In a city that thrives on vibrant arts and culture, Ghostlight Coffeehouse shines as a beacon for coffee lovers and theatre-goers alike. I was in need of some caffeine while downtown the other day and went to the first place that showed up. To my surprise this little coffee place is inside the Citadel Theatre building. I did find it a bit pricey a basic latte was $6, but it was a good coffee. I feel like it’s worth it for the vibe of the Citadel building itself which is filled with beautiful views, lights and plants.

We always go before a performance at the citadel. There’s certainly a trick to arriving just at the right time before the queue gets a bit too big. The staff yesterday seemed new so the order took a little longer, but usually they’re really efficient and used to turning drinks over really quickly. Maybe it’s a bit tricky for single show audiences but I’d love to see more food options, it seems like they’re only occasionally available, when they are they’re tasty. $$$ a bit more expensive, but that’s ok, happy to pay for quality with clearly less client potential.

Thank goodness there is now late night coffee service in the atrium at the Citadel. The coffee is great and there is a wide selection of snack and java offerings. The servers are helpful and kind...not overly friendly. The wait times can be in excess of 10 minutes when it's show night and lines are long.
